2021 Ram 1500 TRX Has Excellent Interior and Performance

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is here. But before we dive into this supercharged off-road vehicle, let's talk about what's going on here.

Ram has made an excellent line of trucks; they've won many times in North American Trucks of the year and always look good.

The automaker wants to ensure no one can touch it, and that's what this TRX Ram 1500 is all about. This robust truck competes with other famous vehicles like Ford Raptor and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

However, overall horsepower and interior, even on a standard Ram 1500, blows people and competitors out of the water. You will get all that with this TRX Ram.

So what's so great about this king of all off-road trucks? Let's find out!

The Exterior of New 1500 Ram TRX

Front Exterior

The beautiful red color of TRX Ram is so charming. So, when you look at the truck, it's not just about taking a Hellcat motor and just putting it in. Ram has done a lot of other engineerings.

It is not only metal sheet wise but also everything under it. On the front fender, you can see the extra width. You have a beautiful flared fender that's almost 8" wide on Ram 1500.

You will love the flared fenders because you have full functionality. So the air will hit the front through the fenders, out and down the sides. It's an impressive little subtle touch.

Flat black, LED lighting, and daytime running lights are lovely. When you go down, you will get your fog lights.

As you go over the lower section from front to back, you'll end up with a different set of skid plates. The way they attach it is incredible so that you won't trap a lot of dirt and debris.

If you look under the truck, it's all front to back to give you all that protection. You get 11.8 inches of ground clearance, measured from the ground's bottom.

The new TRX ram is super aggressive. Just like any other Mopar product, you have everything that works functionally. So at the top, all grill space is functional.

Ram takes a page from the Chevrolet playbook, and they have a plot section in the Ram name. Just like the Chevrolet bow tie on the 2014 Camaro Z28, they hollowed it out to get more airflow.

Besides, you have a front-facing camera as you navigate through rugged off-road terrain.

When you focus on the super-wide hood, you'll see a functional hood scoop. You have a massive air filter to remove all contaminants from the engine.

Then you get additional lights. The Department of Transportation needs it because of its width.

We love the way Ram drops this car so clean and sleekly right in the air intake.

Of course, when air comes in, you have to let the hot air out. So you get a working heat extractor—the fat black with the TRX logo name right on top of the hood.

Side Exterior

Around the bend, what does Ram do with the wheel and tire arrangements? The special TRX has optional Beadlock wheels, and you'll get Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires.

That will help grip the road, Beadlock 18" wheels, and it only looks an incredible 35".

You have plenty of space between the tops of the tires inside the fenders. Guess what it has? New Bilstein active dampers on all four corners!

This truck can go through gravel terrain, and every nanosecond adjusts the damping compression and reflectance of all shock absorbers at all four corners.

That's the technology Ram wants to bring to the new TRX. On the side, you can see the flared fender effect.

You have a badge to tell people all about the supercharged 6.2 liters, 702 hp, under the hood. The side fender vents are fully functional, and you have gloss black with flat black red on Ram text.

You will get Ram rail protection when you go over the rocks because what's crazy is this truck will do it all.

It will do some desert run or some rock crawling; you can even ride it every day to and from work.

Rear Exterior

At the rear, you can see how they flare out the rear fender. The Bilstein suspension is specially tuned for the TRX Ram.

Ram is working with Bilstein to perfect the terrain dynamics suspension system.

On the back, there's a beautiful Ram logo, 4x4, of course, the TRX badge.

The exhaust has an excellent slash cut.

You will have massive tow hooks.

Additionally, you have an optional extra wheel carrier at the back with really nice looking Beadlock wheels.

Engine and Technology of Ram TRX

Under the hood of the TRX, you will see two round openings on the back, known as the Ram airflow.

We love all the names they use, but what happens when the hood closes? So, this will seal the back.

Allows air to reach the V8 engine.

The engine is a supercharged 6.2 liter V8, 702 horsepower, 650 lb-ft of torque. All are channeled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The current Dodge Ram TRX accelerates from 0-60 in about 4.5 s, 0-100 in 10.5 s, a quarter-mile in 12.5 s, and a top speed of 118 mph.

So, what are some under the hood technologies? Well, you have an innovative dual-path air induction system via a functional hood scoop, the largest production air filter, full-time active transfer case.

Besides, you have active dampers at all four corners of the Dana 60, a solid rear with 355 gears, an electronic limited-slip differential, and adaptive LED headlamps with 15-degree movement capability.

Ram 1500 TRX Price

We've talked about the exterior and under the hood. You may be asking about how much is this 1500 Ram TRX? MSRP starting at $ 70,095.

It may look like a crazy amount of money.

But, we think you'll notice that you get a lot more for your money, especially after the interior.

Ram TRX Interior

Front Interior

The door panels leather is excellent. You'll love the gray contrast stitching, and the Alcantara is everywhere.

You got a beautiful small pocket, Harman Kardon sound systems, and a large door pocket at the bottom.

The dashboard has soft material, dry weave carbon fiber, and the TRX badge.

The infotainment system is superior, with a 12-inch touch screen display. Of course, you get Apple Carplay, navigation, and Android Auto.

You have great performance pages, and that will take a few seconds to load. But you know what? It's not that bad. It will take some time because of all the adjustments you can make.

So, you do have your AC controls, and you could monitor the wheel articulation. You could go into dyno engine, g-force, gauges, and every type of readout you need on the interior.

The backup camera is nice and clean.

The heated seats, ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel are fantastic.

You got covered on this 2021 Ram 1500 TRX through the forward camera, and all the auxiliary switches are great.

You could add a winch, and you have exterior lighting, USB, aux jack, wireless charging, and cup holders.

The key fob is looking good with lots of metal.

The gear shift lever will control eight-speed automatic transmission, and you have an outstanding TRX mode selector.

So you could go through different driving modes quickly.

You have launch control, axle lock, and four-wheel-drive setup. You get the Alcantara's leather and a specific badge with your VIN on the center console.

You have TRX embroidery, stitch work, heated, ventilated, and massaging down on the seats. Besides, you're getting electric assist for both the passenger and the driver.

Don't forget about a lovely panoramic sunroof too.

But there's more! You do have the Ram digital rearview mirror, which allows you to see all day no matter what conditions are.

Behind the Wheel

You got the Ram logo on the excellent aluminum sill panel, which always greets you. Driver seat controls are easy to reach.

Get ready for a great looking Alcantara leather steering wheel.

It makes the stitches perforated, the bottom semi-flat, and there's a blackened Ram logo. The metal shift paddles look great, and we wish this kind were in the Challenger or Charger Hellcat.

It's fantastic to get up and down at eight speeds with ease. The dashboard will get great analog and digital touches.

But you also have different driving modes that you use to customize.

You get rock, sand, and mud graphics, which look great with the TRX logo and a nice bright red start-stop button.

Back Interior

You've got plenty of room in the back, and you'll be seated in a beautiful leather interior. Along the way, you get Alcantara.

You've got a nice pocket holder for placing some off-road magazines.

Ventilated, heated, and sliding seats are available at the back. Also USB, and a power source. Don't worry, you've got plenty of legroom and won't be squeezed.

You will be able to feel the rainbow because you have a power sliding rear glass window also.

Performance and Specs of Ram TRX 1500

The tremendous extra touch of the steering wheel is noticeable. It is in contact all the time while driving. If not, you might have a problem, and that's not a good thing.

The paddle changer is the right size from top to bottom. That will allow you to focus on getting all that power, no matter the dirt or paved roads.

During throttle acceleration, you will hear the smooth shifting of the ZF8's transmission speed. You get the perfect amount from a great supercharger.

We know that when you drive this supercharged Dodge Ram 1500 TRX, you will get great feedback.

Visibility while driving is excellent. You can see the hot extractor on the driver's side. The digital rearview mirror gives you a clear view of what's behind.

The Ram takes the TRX even better, with all the subtle touches of the microfiber suede, all the extra leather, and the bags' stitches.

So, you don't just spend extra cash to get a Hellcat motor. The Ram takes care of all the different aspects of the tire, wheel suspension, and interior.

The great thing about this truck is that it has a performance page with all the options to go to different modes.

This vehicle can be the perfect day-to-day driver and something you'll want to look back at every time you park it.

If you're the type of truck enthusiast who wants to use it entirely off-road, you have that capability whenever you're ready.

Being in the interior seats is an enjoyable and comfortable thing, which supports without being too firm.

We mean that no one will argue with all this remarkable technology, including the ventilated seats for the front passenger and the people in the back.

So, Ram doesn't forget anyone when we talk about this truck.

It's surprising how the TRX Ram accelerates and gets the power to the ground so much.

What you will love is that although the roads are not smooth, Bilstein's adjustable suspension can read the road every nanosecond to ensure you get the optimized amount of compression bounce and truck balance.

ram-trx-1500-off-road

You stay in full control and can navigate through whatever path you face, whether it's gravel, rocky, or a little more off-road terrain.

Brakes and balance on the steering wheel feel great. The weight is not too heavy.

But for sure, you can feel what the vehicle's front is doing at any time. That's another area that will make you feel a lot more comfortable while driving.

As we said, it's not just about Hellcat in Ram 1500 truck.

But they make sure you have a balanced setting that will develop the power you want and give you the whole package's handling and comfort response.

So we hope this 2021 Ram 1500 TRX review opens your eyes. Ram wants to keep the "Mopar or no car" philosophy around.

Ram did it with their truck and TRX to present a set of power performance for off-road, on-road, or elsewhere.
