2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 is redesigned inside. As an iconic vehicle, the Tahoe has been around since 1995, replacing the old K5 Blazers. In the latest fifth-generation Tahoe, the manufacturer has made many changes in various sectors. They are developing the new Tahoe on the new GMT T1 platform, using it for Chevy Silverado. They will also apply it to the GMC Yukon 2021 and Cadillac Escalade 2021.
What is different from the fourth-generation Tahoe? The new full-size SUV has more boldface where the Silverado 1500’s look inspired the Tahoe designer.
What’s New From 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71?
There are some significant changes, like all the wheelbase has been extended to about 4.9 inches. An extra six inches length will give you a more stable ride, and it also gives you a better interior space.

The front bumper is equipped with vertical air ducts, while the rear is simple with modern vertical LED rear lights. The Z71 variant is suitable for drivers who like off-road terrain. The difference in Z71 has air suspension so that its height can be changed as needed, which distinguishes it from ordinary Tahoe. The Chevy designer gives more black accents to the front of the car and the appearance of the Z71 emblem on the grille.
With the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension System suspension, the driver can increase the car’s height by 101 mm. The system will automatically reduce the vehicle’s height by 19 mm when you drive on the highway to improve aerodynamics and save fuel consumption.
You can lower the car’s height by 51 mm for easy access in and out when parking. When in off-road terrain, you can increase the vehicle’s height by 25 mm by activating the 4WD Hi mode and an additional 25 mm when moving slowly with the 4WD LO mode. Tahoe uses multi-link suspensions, and in the rear, uses independent suspensions. It is going to drop the floor and give you more room.
Exterior
The Z71 Tahoe has a unique separate look from the standard Tahoe because this car is very muscular and powerful. The rival is the sister brand: GMC Yukon.
They’ve done very well with the headlight design. All upgraded and blends into the enormous grille.
You have a white LED daytime running light, very bright and looks excellent. However, there’s a fake side air current in front, and it’s not the same as you find on the Silverado. You’ll find a lot of gloss black at the front, and it will be interesting to see. Also, you have the black bow tie, which kind of blends it in nicely.

In front, you’ll see a Z71 badge with a very nice touch. You do have bright-red tow hooks, just like on the GMC Yukon 84. There’s metal protection if you will take this off-roading the underneath, which is great because it’s two inches higher than standard Tahoe.
You get a unique style hood separate from Yukon 84. There’s a beautiful body line that kind of comes up and then drifts away, also extensive prominent body lines kind to give you a raised section. Z71 Tahoe is very muscular and very off-road.
You get the 20-inch wheel, and you’ll love the gunmetal gray, a little bit of machine aluminum. The offroad tires are Goodyear Wrangler. It’s a 275 on the width and 60 series on the sidewall. There’s also an extra room above the tires that you get from this trim.
Side Exterior
On the side, you’ll see the Z71 badge. It doesn’t look so bad; I hope you like the way the Z is hollowed out.
You have a color match mirror caps and a little bit more gloss black. Good news for camera fans, you could get a ton of cameras, up to nine optional cameras, including 360 cameras.
You’ll find your Tahoe badge in a brilliant place and Z71 specific running boards. However, that’s going to cut some of the ground clearance, at least on the sides. But it’s nice when you’re climbing in and out to get on top to access something that you tied down. Suppose you got some of the crossbars to the roof rails, and you could gain access quickly.
You have rear quarter windows of the passenger doors with a little bit of gloss black extension.
Also, the large rear quarter windows blend nicely into the plastic areas on the back pillar.
Rear Exterior
The taillight design is full LED, and you will get all upgraded Tahoe badges. In the center, there’s a blacked-out Chevy bowtie that looks clean. There’s no exhaust dangling down, and you’ll be able to get your full tow capability.
Engine
The all-new Tahoe has three different engine options; they are:
- Gasoline, 5.3-Liter Ecotec3 L84 V8, 355 hp @ 5600 RPM, torque of 383 lb-ft @ 4100 RPM

Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 Interior
The 2021 Chevy Tahoe Z71 interior is fantastic. The bar has been raised, space from the extended wheelbase that independent rear suspension and the materials have been brought to a new level.
Front Interior
In the door panels, you’re going to see an excellent two-tone color motif in darker and lighter gray. You have a beautiful wood trim where some stitches work at the top and an optional sound system. You have two levels for snack storage place, and you can put your more substantial items in the lower pocket of the classy door panel.

In the dash, the stitch work and wood trim look great. They chopped down the oak tree and brought it into the Tahoe, and even the AC vents have some silver trim. You do have the all-new infotainment system with over 10 inches screen and the swipe feature. Apple Carplay, Android Auto, navigation, climate controls, everything is available.
You have a 10-speed push-buttons automatic transmission. You’ll love the silver and nice slim on the AC vents.
Also, you get radio controls, AC controls, dual climate, heated seats, but no ventilated seats? Yes, but you can get it, so that’s good to know. There are wireless charging USB, USB C, and a 12-volt. However, there is no cover for those features, and maybe it will bother you a little. You get a nice lid, two cupholders, and a huge center console. As you know, it is an industry-first power sliding. It could slide around 10 inches back or forward.
The seats got beautiful leather, the leather and stitch work great. You’re going to get full power assist for the passenger and the driver’s side.
Maybe you’ve been in a lot of Chevy truck product GMC, and they’ve been kind of hard. But 2021 Z71 Tahoe is comfortable, with tons of headroom and shoulder space.
The Tahoe Chevrolet is written on the sill panel below, and you do have your power assist seats, which are good with lower lumbar. Besides, you get controls for your all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive setup, with 2-high, 4-low, and 4-high. It’s effortless to get to all your safety tech in this vehicle.
The steering wheel is a little thin, but the leather and stitching are beautiful. The analog tech, speedometer, and the LED digital display in the center are fantastic. Also, you can find one power-assist tilting and telescoping steering wheel.
The Mid-Interior
The new 2021 Tahoe Z71 has big mid-road thanks to the longer wheelbase and independent rear suspension. There are captain-style seats with improved armrests.

The passengers will happy with over 12-inch displays, and they could plug and watch their movies. Also, you do have two pockets to put a book or other stuff. They will also get the center cup, USB, USB-C, and a home power source. So, the back seats are great, supportive plenty of headroom, easy to slide and recline.
The 3rd row
The third row is going to be tough for a grown man. There’s a button which you can press, and it releases the seat. The great news is you got a lot of landing pads for your feet. The room is excellent, and you have AC vents and 2 USB-C on both sides.
Safety Features
In its safety system, the new Tahoe has quite exclusive features such as:

In case you fold down all the 2nd and 3rd-row seats, you will get a vast over 123 cubic feet of space. It is like you can live out of this Tahoe full of adventure.
